Meet Marie
I was born and raised in Japan. Even though Japan is a beautiful country, I never really felt like I fit in. People often talk about others’ appearance, and I grew up feeling uncomfortable in my own skin.
At 18, I moved to Vancouver to study. Everything was different—language, culture, lifestyle—and I felt lost for a long time. After moving out of my host family’s home, I had to take care of everything on my own. My lifestyle wasn’t healthy, my diet was unbalanced, and the stress from school started to show on my skin.
Growing up, I had sensitive, eczema-prone skin. My mom would always make sure I used body cream and sunscreen every day—even when I didn’t want to. At the time I didn’t fully understand, but now I realize how much that early care shaped my view of skincare.

One of my favorite memories is giving my mom massages when she came home tired from work. She worked so hard to raise me, and I genuinely loved taking care of her in that small way. Looking back, I think those moments helped plant the seed for why I do what I do now.
After graduating college, I couldn’t afford university. My father had passed away from cancer, and my family was going through financial struggles. I worked whatever jobs I could find. Eventually, I got a job as a receptionist at a spa. That job opened the door to a whole new world—skincare, treatments, and how to care for clients. I learned so much and realized I truly enjoyed it.
At the time, I was dealing with painful acne and felt very self-conscious. I couldn’t afford regular facials, but I saved up and invested in clinical skincare. The first routine I was given was too harsh and made things worse—but I kept trying. Eventually, I found products that were gentler but still effective, and slowly my skin began to heal. That journey made me want to understand skin more deeply and help others going through the same struggles.
Skincare isn’t just my profession—it’s something I’ve lived through. It’s personal.
The space I’ve created isn’t about perfection—it’s about support, healing, and finding what works for you. I believe real skin care is a blend of science, care, and a little bit of magic—and I’m here to walk this path with you.
